Highrise Carpentry is currently working for Multiplex on the construction of the southern hemisphere’s tallest residential tower, Australia 108, for developer World Class Land.
Located in Melbourne’s Southbank, the project comprises a 319-metre luxury apartment tower designed by Fender Katsalidis Architects and featuring 1,105 landmark apartments across 100 levels.
The building will also feature three levels of world-class residential amenity, including two infinity pools located 210 metres above ground. As Melbourne’s highest tower, Australia 108 will form a bridge between earth and sky.
Melbourne - FABP
We worked for Multiplex to complete the state-of-the-art $100 million Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning Building (FABP) at The University of Melbourne’s Parkville Campus in Victoria.
The 6 Star Green Star – Education Design v1 building is regarded as the country’s leading education and research centre focusing on the built environment.
Spanning six levels and 15,722 square metres, the building was designed by John Waddle Architects in partnership with Boston Architects NADAA creating a world leading Centre for education and research and to reflect the faculty’s values of built pedagogy, the academic environments, design studio and the living building.
The design concept features a massive open chamber to facilitate collaboration and flexibility, and enable passers-by to view the vibrancy of activity inherent in studio teaching and learning. The heritage listed facade, originally from the old Bank of NSW on Collins Street, had been retained.
A suspended studio hangs from the atrium roof and a Japanese room with cladding that replicates a Japanese pagoda is a feature installation. Another special element of the building is the underground library with glazed skylights that opens into the building.

720 Bourke Street – Medibank
720 Bourke Street development, a Cbus project, built by Multiplex is a prestigious new 16 level commercial office building located in Docklands, Melbourne.
The project includes a mix of office tenancy space: tower levels 1-10 are anchored by Medibank, while 11-16 will have a mix of other tenants. The ground floor and level one feature retail and food premises and the concourse level will have a Medibank clinic.
720 Bourke Street has a central atrium extending through all floors delivering an abundance of natural light.
700 Bourke Street – NAB
Mixed-use development 700 Bourke Street has become the gateway to the Docklands, heralding the precinct as an up-and-coming corporate hub of Melbourne.
It is one of the two proposed office buildings forming part of the development known as ‘Bourke Junction’ at the corner of Bourke Street and Wurindjeri Way, adjacent to Southern Cross Station and Etihad Stadium.
700 Bourke Street is a 16-level commercial building that includes retail facilities, two podium levels incorporating car park, plant rooms, bicycle parking and a fitout for the National Australia Bank (NAB).
The concourse opens to the community features, which includes retail facilities, an auditorium, NAB branch and cafe. Above this, on levels four to fourteen, are childcare facilities and NAB office space. Rooftop plant rooms and a garden terrace offer a green contrast to the urban setting, while a continuous atrium between levels two and fourteen allows natural light to permeate the design.
Environmental sustainability and accessibility for the local community are key elements of the building design, with a 6 star green star rating achieved for design. Among the environmentally sustainable features are an energy efficient facade, high performance solar glazing, a percentage of ‘small car’ car parks and a black water treatment plant.
